We've all read it, we know the story, and now here it is. Nathaniel Hawthorne's well known play, The Scarlet Letter comes to our stage directly from the east coast. During the chilly winter of 1666 we find Hester Prynne living in the Massachusetts Bay Colony with her only child. Scorned by her adulterous history, Hester bears the punishment of a scarlet red "A" emblazoned on her chest. Just beyond Hester's daily cloud creeps her husband, long believed dead, waiting to seek his revenge on Hester as well as the father of her child. Will his murderous plot succeed? Come experience the conflict between human emotion and human intellect. It will not be forgotten.
This event is being presented by the Alma Education and Arts Foundation.
